Treasurer position: Do you love numbers? Would you have a bit of spare time to share with the garden board?
The Acadia Community Garden and Art Society has an opening on the board for the position of Treasurer.
It’s accounting on an excel spreadsheet with 20-30 transactions for the full year. It’ s writing cheques for garden expenses, depositing donations/payments at our bank in Acadia, reconciling the bank statement, make a short report of the months expenses/income at the casual monthly board meeting, and preparation of the annual treasurer’s report including income statement and balance sheet.
There is lots of help if you have questions / concerns and an audit team to help with the annual report. Please contact email@example.com if you are interested in learning more about this vital role and would like to join our dynamic and passionate board.
May 7th is the community sign raising – all are welcome to watch or help set up the community bulletin board and garden sign.
The event is from 9 am until 12 noon. Donations of refundable pop bottles/can are being accepted at this time also to help us “grow the garden” and pay our annual insurance.
May 7th 1:00 – 3:00 pm (after the sign raising event) is the gardeners/volunteers afternoon picnic and orientation – its a chance to get to know each other and play some old fashioned games in the garden. Bring your picnic and lawn chairs/blankets and any outdoor games you might like to play.
Please consider helping the garden raise money for insurance, the pollinator garden development and raised beds by saving your refundable bottles/cans for the garden.
Please ask your friends and neighbours to help out too! You can drop off the bottles/cans at the May 7th Sign Raising event from 9 am – 12 noon or contact firstname.lastname@example.org for other arrangements. If you like you can bring your refundable into the bottle depot and drop off a money donation to the garden on May 7th.
Your help & support are greatly appreciated!
